Greece is a magnificent country and to it’s
another summer getaway but it has another secret and it’s being
picked up rather quickly. Greece has natural assets and

The
secret is revealed Greece has an unsurpassed selection of
immaculate mountains covered with winter snows. Many skiers
addicted to better-known resorts in Switzerland, France, and
Italy, Greece doesn’t even cross their mind. What many skiers
don’t know is that Greece offers low prices and a multiplicity
of slopes and ski centers. As ski resorts in the Balkans begin
to appeal to skiers, friendly Greece, is starting to entice more
EU visitors and Americans seeking inexpensive, unusual skiing.
Skiing in Greece is a bargain
compared to most other places, with lift passes costing only a
few dollars a day. Just three hours away from Athens, Mt.
Parnassus, the most famous and cosmopolitan resort of Greece.
It’s easily accessible and generally offers skiing from December
to March.. The prices at this resort which is the best-developed
resort run by the EOT, reasonable. Parnassos has the most superb
mountains in Greece, verdurous of beeches and dense vegetation
all year round.
Parnassos has also a spacious chalet with a cafeteria,
restaurant, ski school, renting and buying ski equipment, baby
sitting, children’s playground, healthy hand-made sweater
industry, large parking space, first aid station and heliport
Just a little
over Parnassos we find the picturesque and cosmopolitan town
of Arahova, known as the Mykonos of winter. Arachova also offers
lodgings and shops
Kalavrita ski
resort is situated on the North West side of mountain Helmos at
an altitude of 1,700 meters (base) to 2,340 meters (summit).
Kalavrita, the main ski resort of the Peloponese, is a pretty
village built on the slopes of Aroanion mountain, on the right ,
on the site of the ancient city of Kinethas. It is a traditional
village that has: new guesthouses, spacious free parking ,shops
and restaurants have sprung up to service thousands of ski
lovers who descend here every winter to enjoy the slopes of the
Helmos ski center nearby.
It has been operating since 1988 and consists of 7 lifts, 12 ski
runs, spacious free parking, cafeteria, restaurant, ski rental
shop, ski school and First Aid Station.
The ski centre is open daily throughout the ski season (December
to April).
